Religious Faiths  and practices have long been thought to have a pathological basis, and psychiatrists over a century have understood them in this light. Religion was considered as a symptom of mental illness. Many research reports strongly suggest that to many patients, religion and spirituality are resources that help them to cope with the stresses in life, including those of their illness. Many psychiatrists now believe that religion and spirituality are important in the life of their patients.

What is spirituality?     

Spirituality is a common concept. It involves faith and obedience to the most powerful Creator/ God, who controls the universe and the destiny of man. It involves the ways in which people fulfill what they hold to be the purpose of their lives, a search for the meaning of life and a sense of connectedness to the universe.

Spirituality improves mental health

No doubt, spirituality has a great positive impact on mental health.Youth those who practice religion are often away from drugs, alcohol, and violence because of spiritual life. It’s not the teaching, religion, or the threat of religious consequences that help children live a clean and healthy life. Instead, spirituality relieves pressure of their lives, so they don’t involve in failure life. Parents who support their children to participate in religious activities are better parenting skillful and those children are better at homes, schools, self-control and show better psychosocial correction.

Extremism Pandemic

Extremism is an attribute of being think or act extremely and also, the advocacy of extreme measures or views. The term is used in political or religious thoughts of speaker or some who implied shared social consensus to be far outside the mainstream attitudes of society. Extremists’ views are typically contrasted with those are moderates. Political agenda perceived as extremist often for those are Far-left politics or Far-right politics as well. Radicalism, reactionism, fundamentalism and fanaticism are alternative terms of extremism
